Chapter 01Pink neon, boxwood wall

Salon

A pink neon sign, a wall of boxwood, a round pouf every finished dog gets posed on, and a floor the dogs are free to roam. The room that made the Groovy Grooming name, now in a tiny house of our own.

One groomer works the room, Tuesday to Saturday. Drop-off blocks start at 8:00 and the last one is 2:30.

The moveThese photos are the Range Avenue salon in Denham Springs. In spring 2026 we bought our own tiny-house salon and moved it to 15939 Varnado Road in Walker. Photos of the new room are coming.

Chapter 02Drop-off to pickup

Day

Your dog is not in a kennel and not here all day. Drop off at your block, we text when the groom is done, and you pick up a dog that is still in a good mood.

Chapter 03Puppies, seniors, rescues, nervous dogs

First

The first visit sets the tone. Puppies get a short, gentle groom. Seniors get breaks. Scared dogs get the slow version, as many visits as it takes. New clients leave a 25 percent deposit when they book, and it comes off the bill.

Puppies

Under six months, the first groom is short: a bath, a dry, nails, and a trim around the face and feet, with treats between every step. The full haircut waits for the second visit.

Seniors

Older dogs get breaks, a shorter time on the table, and a groomer who watches for sore joints. Tell us about medication or stiffness in the notes when you book.

Nervous and rescue dogs

This is the dog we built the salon for. We read the body language, skip the force, and stop before a step turns into a fight. Say so when you book and we plan the visit around it.
